“We are a caring community passionate about connecting people to Jesus Christ.”
What does this mean?
We are real people – seeking to be honest about ourselves, our journeys, our fears, our doubts, and our hopes. We desire to be a ‘come-as-you-are’ kind of people. And we want to journey not as lone rangers, but together – with a band of friends, and as a Body of Christ. We long to live out grace and truth in relationships. A community that cares about each other and about this campus. We want to leave the people, places, and things we encounter at Vanderbilt better than we found them.
St. Augustine once said, “Our hearts are restless until they find their rest in Thee, Lord”. We have found rest, hope, joy, and freedom in Christ. We have come to know and love Christ. And we want to continue to know and love Him more and more – in a way that leads to real life change and real action. By His grace we have become connected to Him.
Because we believe Jesus is the only One who truly gives the freedom we long for, the hope we need, the beauty we will travel the world to see, and the love we will give our hearts away for, we cannot help but be passionate to connect as many people as possible to Him. We desire to live out our connection in our words and our deeds; in our relationships and our acts of service; in our attitudes and in our actions – on our campus, in our communities, and all around the world.
Vanderbilt is where we live and learn and grow. Vandy students are the best and the brightest.
- Over 85% of Vanderbilt students graduated in the top 10% of their high school class.
- Vanderbilt students come from all 50 states and over 90 countries.
- Vanderbilt students go on to be world leaders in their fields: business, academia, politics, medicine, law, economics, science, education, public policy, and on and on.
Vanderbilt students have the opportunity to write great stories for themselves and for the world. And we believe God has written the Greatest Story of all. We desire to help students know how to navigate the intersection of their story with His Story as they connect to Jesus in a caring community.
**Cru is an organization that is intentional in its commitment to faith and is not officially recognized by the University, however we continue to meet on and around campus.
